I manage an Eagle Postal Center (similar to MB etc.) NA300ZX is right - we offer convenience. I don't know the particulars of the package you shipped, and I don't know what MB etc charges, but I know that the minimum charge that I can ship with UPS is around $6. Usually, the prices we charge are very close to what you can get by going directly to UPS without an account number. We receive discounts from UPS and Fedex and that is where we make our profit. UPS and Fedex don't quote you the counter charge that they hit you with when you take it to their ship centers. One advantage we have is that we also will quote you rates between UPS, Fedex, and the USPS. Another is that we will box up the package for you. Its all about convenience.
